# Monitor a superagent

Follow a superagent's progress, inspect its team's work and control it.

A superagent works in the background, but you can see exactly what it's doing at any time, down to the code in any worker's notebook.

## Your superagents

The **Your superagents** list shows every superagent you have access to. Each card shows:

| Item | Meaning |
| ------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Uptime** | How long the superagent has been running, not counting time paused |
| **Backlog** | How many work items are open |
| **Team size** | How many active workers and coordinators it has |
| **Credits (24hrs)** | Credits used in the last 24 hours |

The footer of each card shows decisions waiting for you, such as "2 decisions waiting", or, if there are none, its latest achievement. From each card, you can pause or resume the superagent, or open its settings, share it or delete it.

## The superagent's page

Open a superagent to see its page. The header has **Settings**, **Share**, **Pause** or **Resume**, and **Delete**. The page has three tabs, and a **Zerve AI** panel on the right for your [conversations](/zerve-docs/superagents/conversations-backlog-and-follow-ups.md) with it.

### Overview

The Overview tab gives you the current state at a glance:

| Card | What it shows |
| --------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Decisions** | Banners for decisions waiting for you. See [Decisions and recommendations](/zerve-docs/superagents/decisions-and-recommendations.md). |
| **Last update** | What the superagent is working on right now, and its latest achievement |
| **Objectives** | Progress against each objective and its KPIs |
| **Key numbers** | Credits used in the last 24 hours, team members active and decisions pending |
| **Credits** | Credits used today against the daily budget |
| **Backlog** | Open work items, for example "1 in progress · 2 open". Select **See all** for the full list. |
| **Activity** | A feed of what the team has done, newest first |
| **Schedules** | The superagent's timers and when they next run |

### Map

The Map tab shows the team as a chart. Team members that are running show a spinner. Turn on the **Artifacts** layer to see how many artifacts each team member has produced.

Select any team member to open its details:

| Tab | What it shows |
| ------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Config** | Its name, role, mandate and current assignment. You can rename it and edit its mandate here. |
| **Input** | Artifacts it's working from |
| **Artifacts** | Artifacts it has produced, with their versions |
| **Output** | Outputs it has produced, such as charts and documents |

For a worker, select **Open notebook** to see its notebook, with all its code, variables and outputs. For a batch, select **Explore Results** to see detailed results, such as rankings. See [Batches](/zerve-docs/superagents/batches.md).

### Outputs

The Outputs tab lists everything the team has produced, such as documents, charts and reports. See [Artifacts and outputs](/zerve-docs/superagents/artifacts-and-outputs.md).

## Activity

The Activity feed records what happens on the team:

| Event | Meaning |
| ---------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Task delegated** | Work was assigned to a team member |
| **Task completed** | A team member finished its work |
| **Task failed** | A team member's work failed |
| **Woken** | A team member was woken, for example by a completed task |
| **Artifact published** | A team member published an artifact |
| **Output produced** | A team member produced an output |

Select an event to jump to that team member on the Map. Select **Load more** to see older events.

## Team member states

| State | Meaning |
| ----------- | ------------------------------------------------ |
| **Running** | Working now |
| **Queued** | Waiting to start |
| **Waiting** | Idle while one of its own team members works |
| **Paused** | Paused, for example while it waits for an answer |
| **Idle** | Not working |

A team member can also be **replaced**, when it lost out to a better candidate in a batch, or **archived**, when it's been retired.

## Pause, resume and delete

**Pause** stops all of the superagent's work immediately and prevents new work, including scheduled work, from starting. **Resume** lets it continue. Sending a paused superagent a message also resumes it.

**Delete** removes the superagent. You'll be asked to confirm.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.zerve.ai/zerve-docs/superagents/monitor-a-superagent.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
